Katie Jane Hughes shows us 3 easy looks with the Edna Mode Collection

The incredible celebrity and editorial makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes shows us how to create three looks with the new Edna Mode and Ciaté London collection, from glowing and subtle to bold and colourful!

To start, Katie prepped her base with Extraordinary Foundation in the shade 106P, applying it with a brush working outwards from her t-zone. She then pressed the product in with her fingertips for a naturally perfected complexion. “It’s gorgeous, it’s radiant.”

Katie used the blush shades in the palette to add a flush to the cheeks and the eyelids. She starts with the shade "Heroic" applying it to her cheeks. “I love this tone, it’s the perfect deep matte peach.”

She then adds the other blush "No Capes" to her eyelid, with a pop of the lilac eyeshadow “Explain Yourself” in the inner corner. “I want this look to be really soft and subtle”. She tops off the look with our Wonderwand Mascara and Pump Plump Lip Gloss in “Blossom”. “It’s lovely, it’s not sticky but it has an insane amount of shine.”

Look 2:

For the second look, Katie amps it up with "Be Bold" gel eyeliner. “It’s a soft red, a really easy red to wear cos it’s not super-duper intense. I’m going to do a graphic wing because the colour is a little softer and I think that will really lean into that balance.”

She then layers the eyeshadow "I Insist" over the eyeliner. “It’s a beautiful shimmery red. I actually would love to use this over the top of lipstick as well to add a sheen and a finish.”

To create an ombré effect on the lid, Katie applies a little bit of "Listen Closely", a metallic orange, from the inner corner across to the red shade.

To finish look 2, she adds Fashion Maven lip shadow to the lip. “This product is super cool. It’s basically a powder that you apply to your lips. It is creamy and cushiony, and really comfortable. Great for a ‘blurry lip’. It looks like a stain, feels like a lip colour. Apply with a finger or a brush depending on what kind of effect you want.”

Look 3:

To create the third and boldest look, she added “Fight! Win!” aqua colour eyeliner to the waterline, layering “Marvellous” eyeshadow on top “to intensify the saturation and the wear.”

Next she adds “Yess!”, “It’s one of my favourite shades in the entire palette. It is the most insane glitter. This all over the lid with just a black liner and loads of mascara? Heaven. Look at it – wow. It’s amazing. Anything really rich in texture and glittery like this is going to be beautiful applied with your fingertip. You can also use a brush for a softer effect, but your fingertip will give you more coverage”.

She then adds more Wonderwand Mascara. “What I like about this mascara is that it’s buildable and layerable and I’ve applied it 3 times and it still doesn’t look clumpy”.

She finishes off the looks by layering more “No Capes” blush on her cheeks, another layer of lip powder and pats on Dewy Stix in “Glow” on her cheekbones.
